The Animal Welfare League of Aransas County, Inc. (AWLAC) is a community-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of animals in Aransas County through strategic support, funding, and collaboration. Our mission is to enhance animal welfare by providing resources and funding for programs, services, and initiatives that are not otherwise covered through existing municipal budgets.

AWLAC works in partnership with Aransas County Animal Care and the broader community to strengthen the safety net for animals in need. Rather than operating as a rescue or shelter, our role is to support and expand the impact of those already on the front lines. We focus on practical, results-driven solutions such as low-cost vaccination and microchip clinics, pet retention resources, emergency medical assistance, enrichment and care improvements, and funding for operational needs.

Our goal is simple: to reduce unnecessary euthanasia, improve quality of care, and promote responsible pet ownership across our community. By addressing gaps in funding and services, we help create better outcomes for both animals and the people who care for them.
